Digging up Memories

Taking a break from my day to post this little story.

Do you ever wonder where your childhood toys disappear too? You know some of them were given away or cleaned out to make room for more, but there is always a stray one that gets lost in the shuffle.

While my mother was gardening this afternoon, she was digging up in an area that once was the landing spot for my sandbox. After a scoop or two into the ground, she hit something orange and bright. It was not the fruit, but a very small very plastic shovel I would use in my sandbox.

She washed off the dirt and brought the shovel to me while I was ‘buried’ in school projects. She asked if I had ever seen it before, and I remembered it was one of the many shovels I had in my sandbox when I was a kid. It definitely brightened my evening by giving me something funny to look at as I continued my project work.

I leave you with a photo of the memorable shovel:

Have you ever found a childhood toy after years of it being hidden somewhere?

Pathways and Mysteries

Must build pathways for park goers… That’s been my mission for 3 weeks ever since the purchase of Rollercoaster Tycoon 3!

Since summer classes ended in the middle of August, it has left me some summer vacation to build Rollercoasters and work on my sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project 2013.

I have finally chosen a theme for my sketchbook. It will be a mystery. I have been fighting with this sketchbook since its creation wanting to tear out all the pages and start over so many times. The idea of starting over is still in the forefront of my mind.

I am excited to see the Sketchbook Project 2012 tour. I think it will be fun to see how others have interpreted the different themes of the project. I may even get a few new ideas on how to approach my sketchbook.

Has anyone else had the chance to see the tour?

I am also counting down the days until I start class this fall. September 6th is the first day! I am so excited to start my first Web Design class at AAU. I plan on using my website to host projects throughout the semester. There will probably be few changes to the front page and how to find my blog, but it will still be here!

I must go reach my objectives for my theme park!
